Want this skill to feel like “just another entrance to hand to hand?” - then this workshop is for you! We’ll provide numerous progressions that create the foundation for fluid and consistent inlocates. Depending on participants’ skill level we may also explore inlocate to extension.
Prerequisites for this workshop are: 10 second standing hand to hand (no spotter), inlocate (front lift) to two high.
Cascades and Corbets
9/18, 9/2, 10/2
$45 per class
This 3 part workshop will provide progressions towards and refinements on cascades (foot to hand to hand to hand) and corbettes (hand to hand to foot to hand).
Prerequisites for this workshop are: 10 seconds standing hand to hand, 5 seconds without the base moving, hand to hand bumps (i.e. the first part of a tempo to extended hand to hand) and extended foot to hand. If time allows we will also explore these skills in reverse hand to hand. Students are allowed to take Part 1 without taking the second two classes. If you’re unable to attend Part 1, arrangements can be made.
Thursday Sept. 19
8 - 10pm
Skip the two high, use toe pitching to get to foot to hand, reverse foot to hand, bird, and even reverse hand to hand. This workshop will work the fundamentals of toe pitching and depending on the participants’ experience work all the way through toe pitch to reverse hand to hand.
Prerequisites for this workshop are standing foot to hand and foot to hand bumps (i.e. the first part of a tempo to extended foot to hand).
Monday Sept. 23
6 - 8pm
So much fun to be had in a threesome! We’ll cover the fundamentals of swinging and depending on participants’ experience using swinging for dynamic releases and transitions into other tricks (i.e. foot to hand/hand to hand).
No prerequisites except a basic comfort level with standing acro and lots of chalk!
Thursday Sept. 26
8 - 10pm
You don’t have to be a cheerleader to chuck a flyer into the air (and catch them!). We’ll work calibrations for banquine and depending on participants’ experience we will also work more advanced throws (i.e. lazy backs and back tucks).
No prerequisites except a basic comfort level with standing acro and strong wrists.
Monday Sept. 30
6 - 8pm
Does getting into reverse hand to hand always feel a little tedious, why not go straight from the ground? We’ll provide numerous progressions to make relocates feel accessible, as well as provide refinements to make relocates consistent and fluid.
Prerequisites for this workshop are 10 seconds standing reverse hand to hand (spotter okay) and reverse lift.
Knots and One Arms
Tuesday Oct. 1
8 - 10pm
Need a free hand to hold your fire staff, this workshop is for you! It will provide progressions toward knots (flyer’s two hands on base’s one hand) and dynamic entrances and exits from knots, as well as work one-arm standing hand to hand.
Prerequisites for this workshop are: 10 second standing hand to hand (no spotter), standing liberty (mono foot to hand, spotter okay) flyer able to do one arm handstand shifts spotted on the ground.
